Position Summary:

This role delivers high-impact sterile compounding operations that directly enable safe, scalable medication production within Empower’s hyper-growth 503A/503B environment. The position owns end-to-end execution of aseptic preparation, documentation, and cleanroom readiness, ensuring regulatory compliance and batch quality at speed. Leveraging AI as a force multiplier, the role enhances accuracy, throughput, deviation detection, and decision-making across compounding workflows. Operating within tightly controlled cGMP and USP <797>/<800> standards, this position requires disciplined execution, data-driven problem solving, and continuous improvement mindset. Success demands P80–P90 talent characterized by precision, accountability, learning agility, and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes under dynamic production demands while advancing operational excellence and patient safety. The role contributes to scaling capacity, reducing variability, and strengthening compliance rigor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sterile Operations

  • Aseptic Execution: Performs sterile compounding using validated aseptic techniques within ISO-classified cleanrooms, ensuring adherence to USP <797>/<800> and cGMP standards while leveraging AI-enabled guidance systems to improve precision, reduce variability, and enhance throughput, directly supporting scalable, compliant medication production aligned with Empower’s quality and safety expectations.
  • Process Compliance: Executes compounding processes with strict adherence to batch records, SOPs, and regulatory requirements, utilizing AI-assisted validation tools to ensure accuracy, detect anomalies, and maintain audit readiness, reinforcing operational discipline and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality sterile preparations in a regulated environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Operates and monitors compounding and sterilization equipment, applying AI-driven insights for predictive maintenance and performance optimization, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining consistent production flow within high-demand sterile manufacturing operations.

Quality And Compliance

  • Documentation Accuracy: Completes detailed compounding documentation and batch records with precision, leveraging AI-supported verification systems to reduce errors, ensure traceability, and maintain compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards critical to patient safety and inspection readiness.
  • Deviation Response: Identifies, escalates, and supports investigation of deviations using structured problem-solving and AI-assisted root cause analysis, contributing to timely resolution, continuous improvement, and strengthening of quality systems within a highly regulated compounding environment.
  • Inspection Readiness: Maintains constant readiness for internal and external audits by adhering to protocols, supporting documentation reviews, and utilizing AI tools to monitor compliance trends, ensuring sustained regulatory alignment and operational transparency.

Cleanroom And Efficiency

  • Environment Control: Maintains cleanroom integrity through cleaning, sterilization, and environmental monitoring, incorporating AI-enabled tracking systems to ensure contamination control, compliance with ISO standards, and consistent readiness for sterile production activities.
  • Workflow Optimization: Applies LEAN principles such as 5S and root cause analysis, augmented by AI insights, to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and improve cycle times while maintaining uncompromised quality and compliance in compounding operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborates cross-functionally to meet production targets, supports training of new technicians, and utilizes AI-driven knowledge tools to standardize best practices, enhance team capability, and ensure consistent execution across shifts.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, USP <797>/<800>, and cGMP standards, with ability to apply AI-enabled tools to enhance accuracy, compliance monitoring, and production efficiency. 
  • Proficiency in sterile compounding calculations, equipment operation, and batch documentation, supported by digital systems and data-driven decision-making tools. 
  • Ability to operate effectively in controlled cleanroom environments, maintaining strict adherence to gowning, safety, and contamination control requirements. 
  • Skilled in continuous improvement methodologies, including LEAN and root cause analysis, with aptitude for leveraging AI insights to optimize processes.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years previous cGMP or LEAN manufacturing experience required. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. 
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to follow instructions and work in controlled environments with hazardous substances and strong odors. 
  • Skilled in mathematical calculations, equipment operation, and meeting gowning requirements for cleanroom processes.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and accredited in Sterile/IV compounding by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education required.
