Required Education:

• Pharmacy Technician Certification (state or national) OR Pharmacy Technician Trainee License
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Teams and Outlook required, Word and Excel helpful)
• Strong customer service skills (written and verbal)
• Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet use
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician coordinating administrative support activities
Pharmacy Technician Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician Support plays a key role in supporting members, providers, and internal pharmacy teams through the prior authorization process. This position primarily handles inbound phone calls, offering professional assistance, accurately documenting determinations, and ensuring timely completion of all approvals and denials. The technician will escalate clinical judgment calls to the pharmacist as needed. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent customer service, advanced computer proficiency, and the ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume, compliance-driven environment.
Job Duties:
• Handle inbound calls from members, providers, and other callers to provide professional assistance through the criteria-based prior authorization process
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of approvals and denials
• Transfer all clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist
• Support prior authorization workflows while meeting productivity and compliance standards
