Required Education:

• Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service role within a high-volume call center environment, preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar service position
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Strong verbal communication skills and customer service orientation
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Prior pharmacy experience (highly transferable)
• Previous work-from-home/remote work experience
Position Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician I – Prior Authorization is responsible for handling inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members, providing courteous and professional phone support throughout the prior authorization process. The role requires maintaining accurate, timely documentation of reviews and transferring all clinical or escalated inquiries to the pharmacist team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring service quality, adherence to privacy practices, and protection of confidential information. Telework requirements apply, including securing a dedicated workspace, maintaining high-speed internet connectivity, and adhering to Client Teleworker Privacy Practices.
Job Duties:
• Handle inbound calls from members, providers, and pharmacies, ensuring professional and courteous support
• Guide callers through the criteria-based prior authorization process
• Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of reviews
• Transfer clinical questions, escalations, and judgment calls to the pharmacist team
• Ensure compliance with teleworker requirements, including:

• Training: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM CST
• Monday–Friday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM CST (multiple shifts; client will assign shifts after training, candidates may bid for preferred shifts)
• Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM CST (multiple shifts)
• Standard schedule consists of 8-hour shifts within the timeframes listed above
• Preference given to candidates in Pacific Standard Time (PST)
