Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) – Contract to Hire

Location: Onsite – Pharmacy
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Lunch 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $67/hour (Weekly Pay)

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with an active South Dakota Pharmacist License to serve in a temporary capacity until the permanent PIC position is filled. This role requires strong leadership, compliance oversight, and hands-on pharmacy operations experience. The ideal candidate has prior Pharmacy Manager or PIC experience and is comfortable overseeing daily workflow while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Team Structure

• 1 Pharmacist

• 1–3 Pharmacy Technicians

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring full compliance with South Dakota Board of Pharmacy regulations

• Verify and accurately check prescriptions prior to dispensing

• Oversee prescription processing to ensure accuracy, safety, and timeliness

• Maintain efficient pharmacy workflow and supervise support staff

• Fill and dispense prescriptions as needed

• Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations

• Conduct and oversee monthly pharmacy audits

• Administer immunizations and Long-Acting Injectable (LAI) medications

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted South Dakota Pharmacist License (required)

• Previous Pharmacy Manager or PIC experience preferred

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Experience with regulatory compliance and pharmacy audits

• Immunization certification preferred
