Clinical Pharmacist Compensation
The pay for this position is $53.00 per hour
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Clinical Pharmacist Highlights
This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
The required availability for this position is Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM EST
Clinical Pharmacist Responsibilities
Review and evaluate prior authorization requests using clinical criteria and plan design
Interpret clinical guidelines and verify insurance eligibility
Communicate approval and denial determinations to providers, health plans, and patients
Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and prior authorization team members to process referrals
Perform inbound and outbound calls with providers, team members, and patients as needed
Review patient medication profiles, drug interactions, sensitivities, and prescription usage databases
Contact physicians to resolve prescription questions or therapeutic interventions
Maintain knowledge of specialty and non-specialty pharmacy drug programs
Participate in training sessions, development meetings, and assigned clinical projects
Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and confidentiality standards while working remotely
Clinical Pharmacist Requirements
Active Pharmacist license in the State of North Carolina (required)
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.
Minimum 1 year pharmacy experience (retail or hospital preferred)
Must list internet speed test results (minimum 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload) on resume
Must have a smartphone for VPN authentication access
Must maintain a private, secure workspace dedicated to business use during working hours
High School Diploma or GED
Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Clinical Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications
Prior authorization or managed care experience
Home infusion therapy experience
Experience collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers on medication reviews
Strong computer skills and clinical documentation experience

- Check medications prepared by the pharmacy technicians
- Coordinate all clinical pharmacy patient care and pharmacy dispensing/shipping activities
- Coordinating all clinical pharmacy patient care and/or pharmacy production activities
- Mean that the supervising pharmacist have reviewed the prescription or drug order
- Provide direct supervision to pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians working with the pharmacist
- Maintain pharmacy patient profiles and dispensing records
- Provide pharmacist counseling for all new prescriptions to patients
- Supervise the work of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns
- Assign projects to resident pharmacist and other pharmacy personnel
- Initiate and facilitate appropriate drug dosing and manage medication-related pharmacist
- Provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas
- Prescribe interview or dispensing pharmacy interview
- Optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication-use process
- Enter prescription data into pharmacy software
- Perform individual patient pharmacy reviews to determine medication adherence and medication reconciliation
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in drug distribution and compounding tasks
- Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians
