Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Pharmacists — two in the outpatient setting and one in the inpatient/ER environment — to join our dynamic pharmacy team. Ideal candidates will thrive in a collaborative environment, maintain high professional standards, and be committed to providing exceptional patient care. Our hospital pharmacy fills an average of approximately 1,000 prescriptions daily and utilizes advanced technology including a ScriptPro robotic system, Omnicell dispensing units, and a robust EHR system. Pharmacists participate in clinical programs, patient outreach, and may serve as preceptors for pharmacy students and interns.
Key Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with policy and law.
Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence in a timely manner.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medications, drug interactions, and therapeutic uses.
Handle controlled substances per federal and state regulations.
Support and participate in clinic programs (e.g., vaccine clinics, warfarin clinics, outreach clinics).
Ensure accuracy in medication storage, dispensing, and inventory control.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to optimize patient care.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and training as required.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted pharmacy license (Arizona preferred).
Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and PALS required for the Inpatient/ER role (PALS may be obtained on-site).
Experience: Hospital pharmacy experience required; minimum 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
