Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Rotating weekends and holidays
Participation in on-call rotation
Overtime may be required based on operational needs
Position Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the operational goals and objectives of the dispensing pharmacy by providing accurate medication review, processing, and dispensing services. This role ensures safe and efficient medication distribution while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
The Pharmacist works closely with pharmacy technicians and production staff to ensure prescriptions are processed accurately and delivered to customers in a timely and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities
Execute daily pharmacy operations, including workflow management, production targets, and dispensing deadlines
Review prescriptions and medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate labeling
Ensure all pharmacy activities comply with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
Maintain compliance with all DEA policies, procedures, and controlled substance regulations
Ensure adherence to all third-party payer contractual requirements
Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure accurate order entry, efficient workflow, and pharmacy security
Verify drug packaging, labeling, and prescription documentation for accuracy and completeness
Prepare and/or supervise preparation of sterile IV medications and solutions
Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, and documenting controlled substances
Maintain perpetual inventory records for Schedule II medications
Provide coverage during evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations as required
Monitor and ensure the workflow dashboard is cleared daily
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulatory guidelines
Adhere to departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code
Perform additional duties as assigned

Work Environment
This role operates in a pharmacy setting utilizing standard office and pharmacy equipment including computers, telephones, fax machines, photocopiers, filing systems, and medication carts.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (7–10 hours per shift)
Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, or walking
Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds when necessary
Ability to work extended hours when required
