Job Overview – Pharmacist in Charge (Sterile Compounding)
Compensation: $95 – $100/hour
Location: Passaic County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Pharmacist in Charge (Sterile Compounding) in Passaic County, NJ for our client, supporting sterile compounding operations, regulatory compliance, and pharmacy leadership. In this role, you will oversee cleanroom operations, ensure compliance with USP 797, 800, and 795 standards, and manage the preparation of sterile compounded medications including IV therapies and infusion products. You will partner with clinical teams and regulatory bodies while maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This position requiresactive pharmacist licenses inNew Jersey, California, and Alabama, with eligibility to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).

Responsibilities as the Pharmacist in Charge:
  • Regulatory Compliance & Oversight: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and USP sterile compounding standards while serving as the primary regulatory contact.
  • Pharmacy Operations Management: Oversee daily sterile compounding operations to ensure safe, efficient workflows and adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Sterile Compounding & IV Therapy: Supervise preparation of compounded sterile products including IV therapies and infusion medications.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Maintain quality programs including environmental monitoring, batch review, and deviation investigations.
  • Staff Leadership & Training: Lead, train, and oversee pharmacy staff while ensuring competency and adherence to sterile compounding standards.
Qualifications for the Pharmacist in Charge:
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted pharmacist licenses in New Jersey, California, and Alabama are required, with eligibility to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in sterile compounding or infusion pharmacy required, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of USP <797>, <800>, and <795> standards, sterile compounding practices, IV therapy protocols, and cleanroom operations is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with pharmacy management systems, compounding documentation systems, and quality assurance processes is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage compliance-driven operations while collaborating with clinical and regulatory stakeholders.
