1. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure the pharmacy operates in compliance with New Jersey Board of Pharmacy (NJBOP) regulations, DEA, and FDA requirements.

• Maintain all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications.

• Implement policies and procedures to comply with state and federal laws.

2. Supervision & Operations:

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory control, and security.

• Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support staff to ensure proper workflow and adherence to best practices.

• Maintain accurate prescription records and documentation.

3. Patient Safety & Quality Assurance:

• Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and counsel patients on proper use.

• Implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) programs to prevent medication errors.

• Monitor adverse drug reactions and report them as required.

4. Inventory & Controlled Substances Management:

• Maintain accurate records of controlled substances in compliance with DEA and NJBOP regulations.

• Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies in controlled substances inventory.

• Ensure proper storage and disposal of expired or recalled medications.

5. Personnel Training & Development:

• Train pharmacy staff on state and federal regulations, pharmacy procedures, and safety protocols.

• Ensure continuing education and license renewal compliance for pharmacy staff.

6. Communication & Reporting:

• Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, law enforcement, and auditors.

• Report significant pharmacy issues (e.g., drug losses, policy violations) to appropriate authorities.

• Maintain open communication with healthcare providers regarding prescriptions and patient care.


Qualifications:

• Licensure: Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.

• Experience: Several years of experience in a retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy setting. Prior management experience is often preferred.

• Skills: Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Knowledge: Deep understanding of NJ pharmacy laws, federal regulations, and industry standards.

- speaking Spanish or Portuguese is preferred
