Job Summary:
The Project Engineer provides on-site engineering support for an active API capital project within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role serves as a key execution resource responsible for coordinating daily engineering activities, supporting field work, and ensuring project documentation and deliverables remain on track. This is a hands-on, execution-focused position requiring consistent on-site presence to support equipment installation, utility tie-ins, issue resolution, and project turnover activities.
Job Duties:
- Support the Project Manager in the day-to-day execution of an API capital project
- Coordinate engineering activities across facilities, process engineering, utilities, validation, QA, EHS, and operations teams
- Assist with equipment installation, construction activities, and field walkdowns
- Track project schedules, action items, and engineering deliverables
- Review and manage engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and change controls
- Coordinate with vendors to support site access, installation activities, and issue resolution
- Participate in project meetings and provide status updates to the Project Manager
- Support project turnover activities, including documentation handoff to operations and validation teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline)
- 5+ years of experience supporting capital projects within pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Experience supporting projects in API manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of GMP-regulated environments and site execution practices
- Proven ability to work effectively on-site and collaborate cross-functionally
- Comfortable working in a support role reporting to a Project Manager
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
