Description: Our client is currently seeking a Personal Care Assistant - Emotional Support around the Delaware County area!

Position Title: Personal Care Assistant
Assignment: Emotional Support
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, school days
Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM (subject to slight variation)
Position Summary: The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will provide direct support to students with special needs in alignment with district policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:
Assisting in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Supporting behavior intervention plans and documenting student progress
Collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success
Facilitating IEP meetings and participating in problem-solving teams
Helping maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree preferred
For Upper Darby: minimum requirement is a photo of a high school diploma or official transcript with signature. Post-secondary degrees (associate, bachelor’s, etc.) or official transcripts are also accepted. GEDs are not accepted; ParaPro test is not recognized.
Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
Knowledge of special education practices and willingness to learn new strategies
Proficiency with multimedia and computer technology to support learning
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build effective collaborative relationships with students, staff, and parents
Position-Specific Responsibilities:
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
Support the use of resources and technology to encourage collaboration and problem-solving
Provide individualized support tailored to student needs
Monitor student growth and adhere to district assessment policies
Manage student behavior across various settings
Participate in professional learning communities to strengthen curriculum and assessment practices
Communicate professionally in all written and oral interactions
Perform other duties as assigned
