Pediatric Dentist (Part-Time Contract) – Albuquerque, NM
Location: New Mexico
Schedule: 27 hours per week
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Term: 1-year contract with option to extend
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Pediatric Dentist to provide part-time clinical services in a community-based outpatient setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality dental care to children and adolescents, including those with special healthcare needs.
This is a non-personal services contract opportunity with a stable weekly schedule and long-term potential.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive pediatric dental care including:
Diagnostic services (exams, radiographs, treatment planning)
Preventative services (fluoride, sealants, space maintainers)
Restorative procedures (routine and complex)
Emergency treatment (trauma, pain, infection)
Extractions and pulpal therapy (pulpotomies/pulpectomies)
Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide
Utilize behavior management techniques appropriate for pediatric patients
Educate children and parents on oral hygiene and preventative care
Document encounters accurately in the electronic dental record system
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed
Qualifications
DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dental Residency program
Active, unrestricted dental license in any U.S. state or territory
Current BLS certification
Experience working with pediatric populations
Ability to work with culturally diverse communities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Schedule
27 hours per week
Monday–Friday daytime schedule
No overtime
Federal holidays observed
Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearance
Willingness to complete facility-specific credentialing
Professional liability insurance required
