PCA Personal Care Assistant

Currently we have clients with Assisted Living and Memory Care opportunities, offering FT and PT Day, and Evening openings with rotating weekends.

What will I do as a PCA?

Provides overall personal care, minor housekeeping, and laundry services to facility residents to promote independence, a homelike environment, and an enriching atmosphere by performing the following duties.

• Follows established performance standards and performs duties according to nursing service policies and procedures.
• Observes and reports resident problems and concerns immediately to the Nurse.
• Provides direct hands-on personal care to include bathing, dressing, and toileting. (Refer to Care Plan)
• Conducts resident rounds continually throughout the shift. (Memory Care ONLY)
• Provides resident assistance in accordance with Care Plan.
• Assists Nurse in obtaining weights as instructed.
• Directs resident and family concerns to Nurse.
• Answers call lights.
• Respond to Door Alarms
• Direct/Accompany residents to Dining Area and ensure residents are seated in correct seat assignment.
• Assist with serving meals and cleaning Dining Area as needed.
• Assist residents with minor housekeeping and personal laundry.
• Encourage residents to attend Activity programs and assist Activities staff as needed.

Requires:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
