Job Description:
As a Payroll and Tax Specialist you will play a critical role. You will have a number of responsibilities that will include processing payrolls for multiple clients each month. Sharp, detail-oriented skills are a must, as you will be required to enter and maintain client and employee data into our proprietary system, accurately. You will also interface and resolve issues with state and federal authorities, assist with on-boarding new clients, and support the organization on a number of critical business tasks.
Duties:
- Help maintain proprietary payroll system and data.
- Research and stay current on all federal and state reporting and payment requirements.
- Reconciling and filing 940, 941, state withholding and unemployment and other payroll reports in multiple states.
- Research/address payroll tax notices.
- Help field payroll and tax questions.
- Assist with general office duties as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Customer interaction and problem resolution experience.
Required Skills:
- Accounting and/or prior multi-state payroll and tax experience required.
- Superior communication skills both verbal and written.
- Able to learn our proprietary system quickly and adapt to the needs of a small, but rapidly growing company.
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize and execute multiple concurrent activities.
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to drill down to find and resolve discrepancies, issues, and problems.
- Advanced problem solving skills.
- Trustworthy with confidential client information. Able to pass a background check.
Position Details:
- Full Time 40+ hours per week
