About the Opportunity - Payroll Specialist

An established, employee‑owned organization in the social services sector is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support a large-scale acquisition and a major payroll system transition. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, is comfortable navigating organizational change, and enjoys both independent and collaborative work.

Tasks & Responsibilities – Payroll Specialist

• Lead and manage the transition of payroll systems from Paycor to ADP Workforce Now
• Perform heavy data entry to ensure accurate and efficient transfer of payroll data
• Set up multi-state payroll tax configurations across multiple entities
• Transfer year‑to‑date earnings, deductions, PTO balances, and benefit plan data
• Support payroll functions for approximately 700 incoming employees
• Navigate a structure involving multiple FEINs and multiple states
• Collaborate with cross‑state teams to ensure seamless integration during the acquisition
• Work within a lean HR/payroll team during a high‑growth period

Qualifications – Payroll Specialist

• 3–4+ years of payroll experience
• Hands-on experience with Paycor and ADP Workforce Now (required)
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and taxes
• A people-first, team-oriented mindset
• A self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively
• Someone who excels in fast-changing or acquisition-driven environments
