Payroll Specialist - Healthcare Setting
Location: Kingston, NY
Compensation: $31/hour
Work modality: 100% in-office
Position Summary
Process and manage payroll operations while ensuring accurate, timely employee compensation and regulatory compliance. Coordinate payroll documentation and prepare comprehensive payroll reports for organizational review.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for all employees using specialized payroll software
- Enter and review time and attendance records, wage calculations, and deduction entries
- Conduct payroll reconciliations and prepare specialized payroll reports
- Monitor payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in employee compensation
- Assist with federal, state, and regulatory payroll tax filing ensuring compliance
- Process new hire setup, terminations, salary changes, and benefits deductions
- Research and resolve payroll system issues, including tax withholdings and garnishments
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Stay current on governmental regulations affecting payroll processing, including wage and hour laws
- Prepare monthly payroll summaries and assist with annual W-2 preparation
Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years payroll processing experience. Healthcare industry experience would be a plus, but not required!
