Our client in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who can independently process payroll using Paycor. This role requires someone detail-oriented, dependable, and confident managing payroll from start to finish with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate has hands-on Paycor experience and is comfortable stepping into a fast-paced environment right away.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly/biweekly payroll for employees through Paycor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and deductions
  • Review and audit timesheets for completeness and compliance
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Generate payroll reports and support finance/HR with payroll data as needed
  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 preparation
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive payroll information

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience using Paycor
  • Hands-on Paycor experience required — must be able to run payroll independently
  • Knowledgeable in California payroll laws required
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance
  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong problem-solving abilities
