The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grandville that are seeking skilled Payroll Specialists. Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for all manufacturing employees, including hourly, salaried, and overtime calculations.
  • Manage and verify employee timecards and attendance records, resolving discrepancies with supervisors.
  • Administer and process all payroll deductions, including benefits, 401(k), and court-ordered garnishments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including FLSA and manufacturing-specific labor regulations.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll tax filings (941, W-2, state unemployment) and reconcile payroll accounts.
  • Generate various payroll reports for accounting, management, and auditing purposes.
  • Respond to and resolve employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and time off.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll for 200+ employees.
  • Proven understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including FLSA and wage & hour laws.
  • Proficiency with major payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG) and integrated timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, understanding shift differentials, overtime, and production-based pay.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills for accurate payroll calculations and reconciliations.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with payroll processing in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with time & attendance systems (e.g., Kronos, UKG, ADP Time).
  • Ability to generate payroll reports for labor costing and departmental analysis.
  • Familiarity with union contracts or collective bargaining agreements.
