An automotive parts manufacturer located near Fort Branch, IN is seeking Sr. Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate has strong experience with payroll processing and associated state and federal compliance requirements, as well as familiarity with related HR administrative tasks.

This is a full-time, direct hire position. Must be able to work on-site.

Sr. Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring all wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies are followed. This is a lead position for several company locations.
  • Verify and audit employee data, including time and attendance records, bonuses, deductions, and other relevant information into the payroll system
  • Process payroll adjustments and corrections as necessary
  • Audit and reconcile payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Assist with new hire orientation for payroll processors and provide training
  • Act as the first point of contact for FMLA third-party administrators
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in payroll
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Sr. Payroll Specialist Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, HR, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience in large volume payroll processing is required
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required to provide training and support to other locations
  • Familiarity with payroll software and attendance management systems
  • Knowledge of accounting and payroll practices
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
