Payroll & Benefits Manager (Paylocity Required)

Location: Winter Park, FL (Hybrid – Onsite 2 Days/Week)

We are seeking a high-energy, detail-driven Payroll & Benefits Manager to own and elevate our payroll and benefits operations across multiple states. Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management (Primary Focus)

  • Own and manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll for approximately 200 employees 

  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for Paylocity, with extensive knowledge of system configuration, reporting, integrations, audits, and backend functionality.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, bonuses, commissions, and adjustments.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and manage year-end processes (W-2s, audits, tax filings).

  • Partner with Finance to ensure payroll accuracy, budgeting alignment, and reporting.

Benefits Administration

  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.

  • Manage open enrollment, vendor relationships, and benefits communications.

  • Ensure accurate benefits deductions and system integrations.

  • Support employees with benefits questions and enrollment needs.

Employee Engagement & HR Support

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and internal events.

  • Serve as a trusted, approachable resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR-related matters.

  • Partner with HR leadership to enhance the employee experience.

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes related to payroll and benefits.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.

  • Prepare and analyze payroll and benefits metrics for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (preferred).

  • 5+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience.

  • Advanced, hands-on experience with Paylocity required, including backend configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, and system administration.

  • Proven experience managing multi-state payroll.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and employment laws.

  • Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives.

  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

  • Positive, upbeat, and proactive “go-getter” mindset.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership.
