About the Payroll Administrator Role
As a Payroll Administrator, you’ll be responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently, maintaining compliance, and supporting internal teams with payroll-related needs. You’ll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
Key Responsibilities of a Payroll Administrator
- Process weekly payroll for assigned employees with accuracy and timeliness.
- Enter employee time data via import files, spreadsheets, and manual entry.
- Review and balance payroll files and audit reports.
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate employee data and workflows.
- Ensure proper deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other withholdings.
- Assist in preparing Certified Payrolls.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and reports.
Qualifications of a Payroll Administrator
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables).
- Experience with ADP or Ceridian is a plus.
