- Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8:30am-6:00pm
- Required Travel: Yes; may travel to other Endeavor Sites
What you will do:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
- Responds to inquiries from persons seeking mental health or substance abuse care and information or inquiries from outside referral sources seeking services for their customers.
- Engages the caller, identifies needs and urgency, and triages effectively by documenting all pertinent information on the Inquiry Call or assessment form in Epic
- Promotes programs, physicians and allied staff within Endeavor Health to public
- Serves as a resource for connection to services outside of those available at Endeavor Health.
- Responsible for conducting level of care clinical assessments for patients seeking treatment while at an approved alternate location.
- Assesses their clinical needs. Obtains initial diagnostic impression and confirmation during the disposition process with the psychiatrist and in collaboration with outside provider
- Collaborates with physician to determine level of care.
- Provides treatment referrals which are consistent with the customer's medical and psychiatric status and symptoms.
- Oversees follow up with referral sources as appropriate.
- Assists customer in scheduling of appropriate appointments for follow up
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of hospital admission policies, including but not limited to EMTALA, Illinois Mental Health Code and Confidentiality Act and HIPPA.
- Demonstrates understanding of Behavioral Health Reimbursement systems, including managed care contracts, utilization management processes, Medicare and Medicaid. 2
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Assures all communication, verbal and written is clear, accurate and timely.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Supports organization's philosophy goals, marketing efforts as well as the safety and security of programs. Assists the marketing department through community outreach meetings with referral sources and presents on requested topics. Facilitates online screenings, including but not limited to, Depression Aware through the Endeavor Health Website.
- Follows up on documentation with local and state agencies as a mandated reporter per HIPPA guidelines.
What you will need:
- Education:
Master's Degree or a higher-level degree in a behavioral health field
- Certification/License Required:
Current State of Illinois (LCSW, LSW, LPC, LCPC)
Current State of Illinois driver's license required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an offsite location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
CPI and CPR certification is required within 90 days of employment
- Experience:
Minimum two years of experience in crisis/emergency services, behavioral health setting
Knowledge of patient rights and law pertaining to mental health
- Unique or Preferred Skills:
A high level of communication skills is required in order to lead, teach and persuade other and/or interact effectively with others in very difficult situations
Knowledge of DSM5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) diagnostic criteria, ICD10 and interquel standards
