We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Coordinator / Front Desk Associate to serve as the first point of contact for patients. This individual will play a key role in front office operations, with a strong emphasis on insurance verification, patient intake, and ensuring accurate financial and demographic information.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Greet and check in patients, providing a professional and welcoming experience
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage prior to appointments
Collect co-pays, verify required documentation, and explain basic coverage information to patients
Accurately enter and update patient demographics and insurance details in the EHR
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
Assist with patient registration, intake forms, and sliding fee scale documentation (FQHC setting)
Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and route calls appropriately
Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments
Maintain organized front desk operations and support efficient patient flow
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience in a medical front desk, patient services, or healthcare administrative role
Hands-on experience with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and patient intake required
Experience in an FQHC or community health setting preferred
Strong understanding of insurance types (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial plans)
Familiarity with EHR systems (eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required
