We are seeking a Patient Billing & Administrative Coordinator to manage insurance billing processes and support the front office in maintaining a smooth, welcoming patient experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes and helping patients directly.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will:
- Verify patient insurance benefits and coverage
- Accurately enter and submit claims
- Follow up on rejections/denials and resolve issues
- Post payments and maintain accurate patient account records
- Communicate clearly with patients about balances and insurance questions
You’ll also support the front office as needed with:
- Scheduling appointments
- Greeting and checking in patients
- Phone and general administrative support
This is a collaborative role working closely with both clinical and administrative team members to ensure patients feel supported throughout their care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility
- Submit and track insurance claims; manage rejections and appeals
- Post patient and insurance payments; maintain accurate account records
- Communicate with patients regarding balances and billing questions in a clear, compassionate way
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and workflows
- Support front desk functions (check-in/check-out, scheduling, phones) when needed
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in medical billing or insurance coordination (audiology, ENT, PT/OT, dental, optometry, or similar private practice preferred)
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Comfort communicating with both insurance reps and patients
- Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Ability to be adaptable and support a small practice team environment
