Job Title: Pathologists’ Assistant 

Job Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico 

Schedule: M-F 8a-5p 

Start Date: Aug. 24, 2026

End Date: Dec. 31, 2026

Weekly Estimated Pay or Pay Range: $3,200 – 3,408 *MAX GSA's (Includes hourly rate, meals & incidentals, rental car, lodging, round trip flight – taxed and tax-free income)  

About the location: Albuquerque, NM is the heart of the city’s downtown area, known for its mix of historic buildings, government offices, and growing arts and entertainment scenes. It features landmarks like the Albuquerque Convention Center and is a hub for business, culture, and transportation in central New Mexico. 

Qualifications:  

- Master’s degree from a NAACLS-accredited PA program. 
- ASCP PA certification (or eligibility with certification within 6 months). 
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or reference lab preferred. 
- Familiarity with Epic Beaker LIS and voice dictation systems a plus. 
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. 

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform detailed gross dissection and description of a wide range of surgical specimens 

- Assist in the performance and documentation of autopsies. 
- Photograph gross specimens and maintain image records for clinical and teaching purposes. 
- Ensure specimen integrity and accurate labeling throughout the process. 
- Collaborate with pathology residents, medical students, and histotechnologists. 
- Participate in departmental QA/QC activities to maintain compliance with CAP standards.
