Report To: Branch Manager or Vice President
Objective: Ensure that all aspects of the parts department are self-supporting and profitable yet thoroughly supportive of all other departments in the Dealership ensuring maximum profitability and growth potential for the Dealership as a whole. 
Responsibilities: 
  1. Ensure DTNA AORA agreements are met for the Parts Department
  2. Implement DTNA customer support and inventory control programs
  3. Physical Inventory control including PI counts, bin locations, stocking requirements, customer returns and vendor returns. Physical shrinkage less than 1%. 
  4. Absolute control of cores and warranty failed parts. Audit control program to ensure parts are tracked and return promptly 
  5. Implement and audit Elite Dealer Processes
  6. CDK Parts Operations: Customer pricing matrixes and price codes, bulk pricing execution to maximize profit, walk in customer traffic with competitive pricing.
  7. Maintain attractive parts display area to promote impulse purchases. Display should reflect parts on special
  8. Maintain a clear, clean and safe parts dept. All parts have a place within 24 hours of entering dealership –whether stock or returns, all employees must comply. 
  9. Advertisement: Provide input for monthly, quarterly and parts brochures. Maximize DTNA parts specials when appropriate to market conditions. Web based sales and ultimately a e-commerce site, such as excelerator or other. 

Personnel: 
  1. Scheduling of all shifts and coverage of open hours. 
  2. Employee count relative to a goal of $40, 000 per employee, including counter people, drivers and Shipping and Receiving
  3. Actively participate with OPS, including customer assignment and programs to develop aftermarket business. 
  4. Responsible for parts delivery costs, including vehicles, personnel and gas
  5. Ensure policies of employee manual are adhered to;memo to employee folder if necessary
  6. Participate in periodic employee reviews
  7. Parts Department trained according to OEM Guidelines and expectation
  8. Actively engage with interviewing process and seek qualified candidates for open or pending positions
  9. Maintain weekly informative meetings with parts personnel

Systems: 
  1. Continuing to question the processes in place for improvement, never settle for “Just the way it is”or “That’s how it was explained to me” 
  2. Utilize CDK training programs to improve our dealership processes
  3. Involvement in a CDK user group
  4. Review reports necessary to ensure consistency and performance of the parts department

Other part Opportunities: 
  1. Seek out and negotiate alternative suppliers and alternative products for the dealership outside of the DTNA network. 
  2. Develop trailer parts opportunities.
  3. Work with the Ottawa and Schwarz products to identify opportunities.
