About the Role

KUKU is a small, family-run Persian fast-casual restaurant focused on takeout, delivery, and catering.
We are intentionally adding a part-time kitchen lead to create sustainability and real time off for our founder-chef.

This is an hourly, part-time relief role for an experienced BOH professional who can independently run a small kitchen during their shifts.

You will not be responsible for the business 24/7. You will be trusted to execute the full menu, maintain standards, and run service calmly while ownership steps away.


Responsibilities

You will:

  • Open and/or close the kitchen independently during scheduled shifts

  • Run service solo or with minimal support

  • Execute the full menu consistently (hot line + cold prep)

  • Batch soups, stews, rice, sauces, and drink components when scheduled

  • Portion and weigh items accurately (including soups into to-go containers)

  • Enforce labeling, stickers, packaging, and bag standards

  • QC all takeout and delivery orders before they leave

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety without reminders

  • Guide and correct kitchen assistants or utility staff during your shifts

You will not:

  • Redesign the menu

  • Handle vendors or ordering

  • Be on call outside scheduled shifts

  • Work unpaid hours



The Kitchen

  • Persian fast-casual menu: bowls, wraps, stews, rice dishes, appetizers, desserts, and house-made drinks

  • Takeout- and delivery-focused operation

  • Systems-based kitchen: scales, labels, standardized portions, consistent packaging

  • Small team, high accountability

Respect for the cuisine and consistency matters more than flash.




Who This Role Is For

This role is a good fit if you:

  • Have 5+ years BOH experience

  • Have run a station or small kitchen solo

Experience in fast-casual, high-volume, or takeout-heavy kitchens is a plus.



Schedule & Pay

  • Part-time: approximately 20 25 hours per week

  • Predictable, fixed shifts

  • Mix of weekday and weekend coverage

  • Pay: $30 $34/hour (W-2, hourly, overtime paid)
