Part-time Fire Lab Assistant

Under the direction of the Administrative Chair for Human service, Fire & EMS programs, this part-time Lab Asssistant position will provide support and to Credit and non credit fire classes. Duties include setting up and tearing down for pratical evolutions and assisting the instructor with instruction when requested for classes on and off campus locations.

1. Provide support for assigned classes.
2. Under the direction of the instructor, position will participate in class demostrations, labs and  one on one tutoring sessions.
3. Assist increating a classroom environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
4. Identify students needing assistance and refer students to the lead instructor.
5. Remain current on curriculum content and use of continuous quality improvement to support instruction
6. Assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations to administration.
7. Set up labs with equipment and supplies for demonstrations and skill practice and retention.
8. Demonstrate and enforce safety in the class room and lab settings
9. Work in team environments
10. Assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations to administration.
11. Clean up and dispose of any materials and lab equipment used during instrruction

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Wisconsin IFSAC Certification (FireFighter 1 or Fire Fighter 2)
2. 5 years of fire fighter experience

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Posses a Wisconsin IFSAC Certification of Instructor and/or Driver Operator.
