Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to a preschool student throughout the school day.
• Assist the child within the classroom and help maintain engagement in activities.
• Accompany the child to therapy sessions including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
• Respond appropriately to medical situations or emergencies if they arise.
• Follow guidance from teachers, therapists, and supervisors.
• Perform additional paraprofessional duties as needed based on the student’s needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3–6 months experience as a paraprofessional preferred
• Training in the use of an Epi-Pen
• Ability and willingness to work with medically fragile children in a school environment
• Mandated Reporter Certification
• Must be fingerprinted, or willing to be fingerprinted, by the Board of Education (fees paid by candidate)
• Recent Quantiferon TB test
• Pre-employment physical exam
• Proof of immunization/titers for MMR, TDAP, and Varicella
