Title: Paralegal

Location: Phoenix, AZ (North Phoenix/I-17 Corridor) – 100% Onsite

Compensation: $35.00 – $37.00 per hour

The Opportunity Are you a detail-oriented Paralegal with a passion for supporting our nation's military and veterans? We are seeking an urgent, 6-month temporary Senior Paralegal to join a sophisticated legal department. This is a mission-critical role where your writing skills directly impact the lives of beneficiaries. You will provide high-level support for transactional functions, research, and critical legal correspondence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert Correspondence: Draft professional, empathetic, and legally sound letters to beneficiaries regarding claim appeals and denials.

  • Contract Administration: Prepare and draft form contracts and legal memoranda for attorney review.

  • Compliance Tracking: Rigorously track deadlines imposed by law and regulation, ensuring all internal stakeholders meet filing and response requirements.

  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough research and prepare business communications that align with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.

  • Transactional Support: Provide administrative and functional support to the legal team to ensure seamless department operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of passing a 7–10 year Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required.

  • Certification: Paralegal Certificate (completed or currently in progress).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of Paralegal experience, with a specific focus on appeals and denials.

  • Communication: Exceptional legal writing skills with the ability to handle sensitive topics with professionalism and clarity.

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong administrative scores in typing WPM and 10-key.

  • Note: Candidates will be required to provide legal writing examples and skills testing scores upon submittal.
