Job Description
Addison Group is working with a well-established law firm to find a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join their active litigation practice. In this role, the paralegal will provide critical support to attorneys by assisting with case preparation, maintaining case files, and helping coordinate trial-related activities. The ideal candidate brings experience in Texas civil litigation, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic legal setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as discovery materials, subpoenas, notices, and general legal correspondence.
- Maintain and organize case files, exhibits, and documentation according to internal procedures.
- Create deposition summaries and assemble witness binders and trial exhibits for hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Arrange and manage scheduling for depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Conduct factual and legal research and provide concise summaries for attorney review.
- Oversee document production and ensure filings meet electronic court filing requirements.
- Interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and outside vendors.
- Track and record time entries and assist with billing documentation for assigned matters.
- Keep attorneys informed on case developments and ensure important deadlines are monitored and met.
- Occasionally travel for court hearings or trial support (approximately 25–30%).
- Assist with additional case-related or administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- At least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience within a Texas law firm setting.
- Familiarity with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and standard discovery practices.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
