Panel Wire Technician (Class A & Class B) – Control Panel Builder / Industrial Electrician

About the Role
Our company designs and builds custom industrial control panels, automated systems, and electrical assemblies for a wide range of industrial and manufacturing clients. We are seeking skilled Panel Wire Technicians to support client projects and production demands.
This posting covers both Class A and Class B positions based on experience and demonstrated skill level.
Position Overview
As a Panel Wire Technician, you will assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot industrial control panels used in client automation systems. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with electrical schematics, wiring standards, UL 508A/698A, and high-quality panel construction.
Key Responsibilities
Class B Panel Wire Technician (Mid-Level)
Includes all Class C responsibilities, plus:
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Demonstrate knowledge of UL 508A and UL 698A requirements.
- Review shop orders and documentation for accuracy and correct components.
- Assemble, wire, label, and verify components within industrial control panels.
- Identify discrepancies and work with engineering to resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Class A Panel Wire Technician (Senior-Level)
Includes all Class B responsibilities, plus:
- Perform detailed quality assurance testing on finished assemblies.
- Conduct high-voltage power testing while following all Arc-Flash safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot wiring errors, component failures, and schematic conflicts.
- Assist in guiding and mentoring lower-level technicians.
- Ensure all assemblies meet client requirements and UL standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
Class B Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience as a panel builder, industrial electrician, or automation technician.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Basic understanding of UL 508A/698A wiring standards.
Class A Requirements
- 3–5+ years of panel wiring or industrial electrical experience.
- Ability to safely perform high-voltage testing.
- Experience with troubleshooting and quality assurance.
- Leadership or mentoring experience is beneficial.

- Strong electrical wiring and mechanical assembly skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with standard wiring tools and industrial electrical practices.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of automation components (PLCs, VFDs, relays) is a plus.
