Clinical Case Manager – PADRES Program

Abilene Recovery Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Case Manager for our Parenting Awareness and Drug Risk Education Services (PADRES) Program. This program supports parents and families across Abilene and the 30 counties of HHSC Region 2 who are at risk for substance use disorders—especially parents expecting a child or raising children under six years of age, including those involved with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).
As a Clinical Case Manager, you’ll provide trauma-informed, family-centered services that help parents build healthier lifestyles, nurture stronger bonds with their children, and access the resources they need for lasting recovery.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Provide screenings, assessments, and referrals for individuals and families at risk of substance use disorders.
- Deliver parenting education (Nurturing Parenting curriculum), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) awareness, reproductive health, STI/HIV prevention, and conflict resolution training.
- Offer trauma-informed motivational counseling, service planning, case management, and follow-ups.
- Conduct home visits and provide transportation assistance as needed.
- Advocate for DFPS-involved clients by attending case conferences and court hearings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case files, documenting services, referrals, and client progress.
- Build partnerships by representing PADRES at community meetings and events.
- Present public education sessions on substance use, recovery, parenting, reproductive health, and prevention topics.
- Participate in ongoing professional training and continuing education (all training costs covered by the Council).
- Maintain the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and client care.
What You Bring
- Required: Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or LCDC-Intern.
- Strong communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to engage families in a respectful, non-judgmental way.
- Knowledge of prevention, intervention, and recovery techniques, as well as substance use and addiction trends.
- Ability to collaborate with community partners, DFPS, and other agencies.
- Reliable transportation for travel to outreach locations (1–2 times per week).
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends (with flex time provided).
- Commitment to a trauma-informed, family-centered, and strengths-based approach.

Schedule & Location
- Job Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with some evening/weekend flexibility
- On-call duties may apply
- Work Location: In-person (Abilene, TX)
