Job Summary

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team in Beaumont, TX. This role offers a dynamic mix of surgical first assist, inpatient care, and perioperative management. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related surgical specialty and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as first assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG and valve cases
  • Perform vein harvesting using endoscopic or open techniques as applicable
  • Provide inpatient rounding, post-operative management, and consultations
  • Assist with pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care
  • Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic studies including labs, imaging, and cardiac testing
  • Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Qualifications

  • Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
  • Previous cardiothoracic or surgical experience preferred
  • Experience with first assist and/or vein harvesting strongly preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently in a high-acuity setting
