The Painter is responsible for preparing and painting the surfaces and frames, of the ISO tanks, storage tanks, and rail cars on and off the tracks, ensuring they are protected from corrosion and meet industry standards. This role involves surface preparation, application of primers and paints, and maintaining the equipment used in the painting process. Keeping the areas clean from paint chips, and paint drips on floor, ground, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Clean and prepare surfaces using scrapers, wire brushes, and grinders to remove rust, dirt, and old paint and stickers
* Mask and cover areas not to be painted such as data plates
* Inspect surfaces for defects and report any divots and holes to the supervisor
* Apply primers and paints using brushes and rollers
* Follow safety and environmental regulations during painting and handling of materials
* Put tarps (plastic/canvas) to catch paint drips
* Inspect painted surfaces for defects and ensure quality standards are met
* Touch up and repair any imperfections in the paintwork
Requirements:
* Previous painting experience
* HS Diploma or GED
* Current driver's license
Compensation:
* $15.92/hr
