Position Summary
The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing prescription medications for patients in an outpatient or retail setting. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service while complying with all regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process prescription orders from patients and healthcare providers.
- Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy system.
- Prepare and label medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking for expired medications.
- Assist patients with prescription pick-up, insurance processing, and payment transactions.
- Provide clear, courteous communication to patients regarding medication instructions and pharmacy services.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program (preferred).
- Current state pharmacy technician license or certification (as required by state law).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software and basic computer skills.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced outpatient or retail pharmacy setting.
- Frequent interaction with patients, pharmacists, and healthcare providers.
- May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
