Job Description:

Enjoy your summer days outside, teaching children about nature, history, and outdoor skills! Our Outdoor Discovery Camps are licensed KDHE school-age programs run by our award-winning Outdoor Education Team of full-time Park Naturalists.

 

This position supervises other camp staff under the direction and in the absence of the camp director and leads children ages 6-12 in outdoor and indoor activities including games, stories, crafts, swimming, creek exploration, field trips, kayaking & canoeing, archery, bb guns, hiking, nature and wildlife lessons, etc. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Hourly Salary: $16.00 per hour.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum age 21 years and older.
  • Teaching, outdoor skills, camp, and/or environmental education experience preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid Certificate (training available).
  • Background check required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass driving record check.
  • Must be able to work all day outdoors, May 26– July 31, M-F shift hours vary 7 am-5:30 pm with approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Must attend a paid camp training held May 18 - 22.
