Orthopedic Medical Assistant

Overview 
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate senior Medical Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery department in Lawrenceville (across from Northside Gwinnett). This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills to support our healthcare professionals and ensure an exceptional patient experience. 

Duties 

• Assist orthopedic surgeon in clinic with patient documentation and procedures. 

• Administer medications as directed by physicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. 

• Provide administrative support, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and processing insurance claims. 

• Perform precertification for MRI and surgery. 

• Engage with patients to deliver excellent service, addressing inquiries and concerns effectively. 

Skills 

• Technical skills related to orthopedic back office. 

• Experience working in a busy orthopedic clinic is highly preferred. 

• Knowledge of medication administration protocols and practices. 

• Familiarity with outpatient care procedures and standards. 

• Strong background in medical-surgical practices and terminology. 

• Exceptional patient service skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
