Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize Oracle database environments in a secure and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database installation, configuration, upgrades, performance monitoring, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting in a 24x7 production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c).
Perform daily monitoring, maintenance, and support of production databases.
Manage database performance tuning, optimization, and storage.
Implement and maintain database security (user access, roles, privileges).
Handle database backup and recovery using RMAN and Data Pump.
Support high availability solutions (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate).
Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, failures, and performance issues.
Create and maintain database documentation and standard operating procedures.
Work closely with application developers and system administrators.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data governance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment.
Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and internals.
Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and OEM.
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
Experience with Oracle Exadata and Enterprise Manager.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management.
