Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR Operations Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and evaluation of business practices and procedures related to the operating room. The Manager also coordinates and supervises the OR analyst and the charge entry secretary. The Operations Manager assists the Department Director in the implementation of Performance Improvement activities, hospital policies/procedures and in the financial management of the Unit.

What you will do in this role:

  • Support the HCA Code of Conduct. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with organization mission and goals.
  • Maintain responsibility for the surgical revenue cycle; complete billing/charging on a daily basis, creating supply Item Add requests and reconciling ancillary charge reports.
  • Produce cost reports and revenue reports for end-of-month reporting.
  • Train new employees on the process of charging for supplies and implants. Inform all involved staff and management of changes to the system and teach as needed.
  • Support hospital staff as requested and coordinate with other department needs as they interface to OR/PACU nursing/scheduling documentation.
  • Create NPS and department reports to provide statistics/data for Administration, QI/QM, Finance, Surgical Service, Special Projects.
  • Participate in the PI/QI program for Surgical Services departments, in conjunction with the appropriate Management engineer.
  • Oversee supply ordering and inventory control.
  • Research and investigate cost benefit of new technology requests.
  • Maintain consignment compliance.
  • Maintain and standardize charge master and supply inventory.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact stateor Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required.
  • Previous management/leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • 1+ years of related experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
