Were seeking an experienced and driven Senior Real Estate Management Specialist to join a dynamic team managing large-scale real estate projects from acquisition through development. This is a rewarding opportunity to bring your skills in leasing, environmental review, and zoning to high-impact work that improves the built environment and supports long-term community needs.
Key Responsibilities:Site Assessments & Acquisitions:
- Conduct evaluations of land and buildings for potential development. Collaborate with brokers to identify and secure access to viable sites.
- Analyze lease terms, assess market studies and appraisals, and review consultant invoices for accuracy and approval.
- Oversee all environmental due diligence and prepare required documentation under SEQR/CEQR, including Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements.
- Prepare zoning documentation and work with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure compliance and approvals are in place.
- Coordinate closely with architecture and engineering teams to support site planning and define landlord/developer scopes of work.
- Serve as a central point of contact across landlords, tenants, legal teams, consultants, and internal project managers. Navigate issues with strong problem-solving and tracking skills to ensure resolution and keep projects on track.
- Bachelors degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Architecture, Public Policy, Project Management, or a related field, plus 3+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 1+ year of experience (internships accepted)
- Strong understanding of leasing, acquisition, SEQR/CEQR compliance, and zoning processes
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple, fast-paced projects with differing timelines
Preferred:
- 1+ year of experience in urban development, environmental planning, or real estate leasing
- Direct experience preparing or overseeing Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS)
- Familiarity with NYC agencies and urban planning stakeholders
- Experience with commercial leasing, especially in the NYC market
- Working knowledge of Operating Expenses (OPEX), typical exclusions, and how they impact lease payments
- Ability to review lease documents and produce written recommendations
- Familiarity with REBNY leasing conventions and lease area calculations (net, gross, rentable areas, loss factors)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
