Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking an Operations Analyst. Nonprofit Compliance & Legal Operations:
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state nonprofit laws and regulations
  • Prepare, manage, and submit required filings with the IRS and applicable state agencies
  • Coordinate preparation and submission of IRS Form 990 and related schedules
  • Maintain governing documents, policies, compliance calendars, bylaws, and Board resolutions
  • Manage charitable registrations and required filings across applicable jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel, accountants, auditors, and other professional partners
  • Support annual audits and ensure timely resolution of findings
Financial Administration & Controls:
  • Maintain accurate financial records and oversee bookkeeping activities (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Manage bank accounts, payments, and financial processes in accordance with Board-approved controls
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and internal controls for all financial transactions
  • Prepare financial summaries and reports for Board review
Governance & Board Support:
  • Schedule and coordinate Board and committee meetings
  • Prepare agendas, materials, minutes, and follow-up action items
  • Support governance best practices and Board compliance obligations
  • Ensure proper documentation of Board decisions and approvals
Vendor & Program Oversight:
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors supporting grant administration and disbursements
  • Monitor vendor performance, contracts, and compliance with established processes
Fundraising Operations:
  • Support operational execution of fundraising initiatives and events
  • Coordinate with vendors and Board members to ensure smooth execution
  • Ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting of fundraising activities

Requirements:

  • To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
  • Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
Travel Requirements:
  • Up to 10-20% travel
  • Travel to Chicago or other locations to support Board meetings and organizational events
  • Travel for planning sessions, strategic meetings, or key initiatives as needed

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
