Compensation: $125,000 – $175,000 + Comprehensive Benefits & Retirement
About the Opportunity
A respected, hospital-based healthcare system in Westchester County is seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join its clinical pharmacy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with hematology/oncology experience who values interdisciplinary collaboration, regulatory excellence, and high standards of patient-centered care.
This role supports oncology and infusion services within an acute care environment and offers strong leadership visibility and long-term stability.
Position Overview
Under the direction of pharmacy leadership, the Oncology Pharmacist provides clinical and operational pharmacy services in support of oncology and infusion care programs. The role collaborates closely with physicians, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compliant medication management.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and verify oncology medication orders in alignment with hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based protocols
• Support chemotherapy and hematology treatment regimens, ensuring accuracy in preparation and dispensing
• Monitor medication profiles for safety, appropriateness, dosing, and therapeutic optimization
• Collaborate with providers and nursing staff regarding treatment plans and medication-related interventions
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and regulatory readiness activities
• Contribute to patient safety efforts and medication-use evaluations
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
• Support infusion center workflows and oncology pharmacy operations
Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (minimum BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred)
• Current New York State Pharmacist License and Registration (required)
• 2–3+ years of hospital pharmacy experience
• Oncology-related continuing education (minimum 3 CE credits annually in oncology/chemotherapy)
• Oncology Certification (BPS, NYSCHP, or equivalent) preferred
• Experience in hematology/oncology and infusion center operations strongly preferred
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
