Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) The pay range for this position is listed below. This position supports patients and teams across our South Dakota based Avera Cancer Institute locations. The primary role is in infusion, but this position also backfills in clinic. In addition, travel is required so the primary location will be the closest Avera Cancer Institute location to the applicant's home address. Travel may be required depending on need across Cancer Institute locations in South Dakota. (Will cover infusion areas as well as clinic M-F 8-430 Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self-care skills; re-evaluating care objectives. Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; conferring with physicians. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructing patient, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care standards; re-evaluating care objectives; modifying nursing care plan. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keeps patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock; stocking items. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire and ONS Fundamentals Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 1 Year or ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card - Oncology Nursing Society within 1 Year Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: ~ Previous Oncology experience Commitment to the daily application of Avera’s mission, vision, core values, and social principles to serve patients, their families, and our community.
