We are seeking an Office Engineer to support construction programs in the Lake Arrowhead area. This role provides critical technical and administrative support for public works projects involving demolition, reconstruction, and modernization efforts.
The Office Engineer will work alongside experienced project management teams on complex projects valued at $50 million or more. This role focuses primarily on submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management, document control, and construction management support. Experience with construction or other major public works projects is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submittal & RFI Management: Assist the project team in receiving, distributing, and maintaining construction submittals for major infrastructure projects.
- Update and maintain submittal and RFI logs in project information management systems (PM Web or similar platforms).
- Project Support & Coordination
- Manipulate electronic files in various formats to create exhibits, graphics, and visual presentations for project meetings and stakeholder communications.
- Attend and document project meetings, including writing agendas, meeting minutes, and action item tracking.
- Support the team in maintaining excellent working relationships with public agency clients, design professionals, and construction contractors through open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of construction-related experience on infrastructure or public works projects.
- Experience on airport, transit, transportation, municipal, or other major infrastructure projects strongly preferred.
- Experience working on teams for complex, large-scale construction projects.
- Knowledge of the construction life cycle from pre-construction through estimating/buyout, phasing, implementation, and closeout.
- Understanding of construction industry practices, regulations, and documentation requirements.
Software & Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficient in Bluebeam PDF software
- Ability to work in PM Web, Procore, e-Builder, or similar project management software platforms - preferred.
