The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for an Office Assistant 2 position at Spring Creek Correctional Center (SCCC) in Seward, Alaska.

What you will be doing:
Work closely with managers to provide human resource services at a clerical level. Perform duties in multiple administrative functional areas that require adapting internal processes to meet the needs of the organization; liaison between institution and inter agency offices regarding personnel and payroll matters.

Process payroll for approximately 200 +/- employees. Manage employee personnel files.

Assist with processing all mail for Spring Creek Correctional Complex. Perform services that require determining administrative, security, and/or programmatic tasks to be completed, prioritizing work, and deciding the appropriate action to be taken based on interpretation of organization`s programs, policies and regulations.

The working environment you can expect:
Spring Creek Correctional Center is a maximum-security state-operated adult correctional institution.  The institution has a capacity of over 500 male inmates and employs approximately 200 staff.  While much of Spring Creek's inmate population serves long-term sentences, we also house prisoners serving shorter sentences.
