Responsibilities:

Our School Based Occupational Therapists serve students with various physical, social-emotional, and developmental challenges, ranging in age from 3-21 years old.

 

  • Implements treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to be shared with the school and/or supervisors, as mandated in the student’s Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Consults with other professionals (Teachers, SLP, PT, PCP, etc.) on the student's treatment team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive therapy team.
  • Assesses and documents each student’s progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.
  • Writes and prepares annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates and requirements, in order to remain in compliance with state guidelines.
  • Attends all school related meetings as scheduled, such as, but not limited to, Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings for each individual student.
  • Provides screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled occupational therapy

intervention relative to the client’s level of function within the school environment. This includes, but is not limited to the following areas: ADL (activities of daily living), fine and gross motor skills, strength and range of motion, positioning, adaptive equipment needs, executive function, and self-regulation.

Qualifications:

 

  • They must have a Bachelor’s degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE

standards.

  • They must have initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • The Occupational Therapist must hold a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice.
  • They must have a current CPR Certification.
  • Clinical experience with the pediatric population preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective leadership and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.
  • Maintains professional attitudes and respect for the school and their staff.
  • Treats all students with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage high volume workloads.



Posted Salary Range: USD $52.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
