General Purpose: A qualified individual who can perform the essential job functions of this position with or without accommodation. The individual’s primary purpose in this position is responsible for the scheduling of all Nursing Department staff.
Scheduler Essential Job Functions:
· Develop and implement nursing department staffing schedules assuring adequate levels for optimal patient care on a 24-hour repeating schedule within the guidelines established by the Director of Nursing.
· Ensure all nursing staff, to include agency hours are entered for PBJ.
· Monitor and track attendance of nursing staff; initiating disciplinary actions, as outlined by employee handbook, in collaboration with RNs or other management level staff where indicated.
· Coordinate and record staffing related “call offs”, time off requests, and holidays to maintain proper staffing levels. Includes granting or denying time off within the guidelines established by the Director of Nursing while adhering to strict fiscal responsibility.
· Provide general clerical support to the Human Resources Generalist.
· Maintain records of staff performance and attendance disciplinary actions issued for the Nursing Department.
· Maintain accurate tracking of all necessary Nursing staff licenses and certifications as well as any other documents required to ensure regulatory compliance with the Department of Health in Kronos.
· Assists with and takes part in administrative activities.
· Reviews, edits, and submits the information from the timekeeping system for payroll processing.
· Collaborate with the Human Resources Department and assist with projects as assigned.
· Provide backup phone answering support to the receptionist.
· Attend in-service/educational programs in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements.
· Ability to push/pull equipment weighing in excess of 30 pounds using proper techniques and with assistance as necessary. Be able to sit, bend, and stoop. Stand and/or walk for six (6) hours or more daily. Sit and keyboard for six (6) or more hours per day. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
· Position responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime and evening or weekend hours to meet facility’s needs.
· Proficient in MS Office Suite and Outlook.
· Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
· Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
· Meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of the Company, which may include a medical and physical examinations.
· Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing, the Human Resources Generalist, or the Administrator.
Scheduler Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma Preferred.
· Prefer One (1) year of staff scheduling preferred.
· Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and Outlook
