Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products.
- Collaborate with R&D and Design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Define, procure, and qualify necessary tooling, fixtures, and equipment for NPI projects.
- Conduct pilot runs, analyze data, and implement process improvements to optimize yield and quality during ramp-up.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and control plans.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing issues during the NPI phase to ensure a smooth transition to mass production.
- Support supplier selection and qualification for critical NPI components and processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3-5+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) or manufacturing engineering within a production environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Proven ability to develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes, including tooling and fixtures.
- Proficiency with quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 8D) and Lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and BOM management systems.
Bonus Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Proficiency with advanced CAD/CAM software for tooling and fixture design.
- Experience with automation and robotics integration in manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Design for X (DFX) principles (e.g., DFM, DFA, DFT).
