About Us
The 4x5 Suicide Prevention Program is dedicated to ending suicide in the construction industry through education, advocacy, and life-saving mental health training. Our mission is to ensure every Arizona job site has access to a trained Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) or Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) professional.
The Role
We are seeking a mission-driven Executive Director to lead, grow, and sustain our organization. This role serves as the public face of 4x5 and oversees operations, fundraising, partnerships, and training delivery. The Executive Director will also act as a primary instructor for MHFA and QPR classes. Instructor certification is preferred but not required.
This position may be structured as part-time or full-time based on experience and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the organization's strategic plan
- Oversee MHFA and QPR training programs and instructor quality
- Serve as the primary instructor for MHFA and QPR trainings
- Lead fundraising efforts (sponsorships, events, donor campaigns, grants)
- Secure funding equal to or greater than annual salary through programs and events
- Manage the annual budget and ensure financial transparency
- Build partnerships with construction companies, trade groups, and sponsors
- Oversee marketing and outreach tied to awareness campaigns
- Grow and manage the 4x5 Ambassador Program
- Recruit and manage trainers and small support teams
- Track and report program impact and outcomes
- Collaborate with the Board or advisory committee
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong passion for mental health advocacy and suicide prevention
- 5+ years of leadership experience (nonprofit, mental health, or construction preferred)
- Proven fundraising success
- Experience managing programs, budgets, and measurable outcomes
- Strong communication and instructional skills
Preferred:
- Experience with MHFA, QPR, or similar programs
- MHFA or QPR instructor certification
- Familiarity with the construction or high-risk industries
- Grant writing or grant management experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred (nonprofit management, public health, psychology, business, or related field)
- Advanced degree a plus
Compensation
- Part-Time: $30,000 - $40,000 annually
- Full-Time: $45,000 - $65,000 annually
